More on Indonesian Furniture

Indonesia is often thought of as a small Asian country, but it actually comprises over seventeen thousand seperate islands and a population of almost two hundred and fifty million. That makes it the fourth largest country in the world by population.

The huge populus of Indonesia is comprised mainly of Javanese, an ethnic group that's native to Indonesia, and over half of the country is either forestry or national parks. The trees that inhabit Indonesia are a mixture of Asian and australasian heritage, as the landmass around the country was once connected to Australia. A long time has passed since then and Indonesia now has it's own unique types of wood, as well as flora and fauna (including the Tarsier).

Foresting in Indonesia has completely destroyed some of the smaller forests around the country, and especially in Java. Tangkoko follows an ethical code of conduct that protects not only the beautiful rainforests around Indonesia, but also the rights and priviledges of the Indonesian people.
