About Tangkoko - Tangkoko

Tangkoko was born out of a vision to bring the beauty of Asian furniture and home accessories to the UK, without causing harm or damage to the environment or to the local people.

After growing up in the shadow of the Tangkoko rainforest in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, our co-founder Yeng Grandage was determined to introduce the world to the natural beauty and craftsmanship of her native land. As an Indonesian national, Yeng had watched the un-sustainable plunder of her country's natural resources and was determined not to make the same mistake. Her husband Dan has spent the last 10 years advising corporate clients on their social and environmental policies and combined with his brother, Matt Grandage has shaped Tangkoko Limited to become a company with natural, environmental and ethical principles at the very heart of its beliefs.

As well as having a deep commitment to driving environmental and ethical responsibility through our supply chain, we also strive to ensure that a respectful and considered approach is the guiding force for the day to day running of our business and we are extremely mindful of our responsibilities to both customers and suppliers. As a family business we particularly understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships and can assure you of openness, honesty and a commitment to integrity in any aspect of any undertaking.

Our aim is to help our customers make an environmentally and ethically responsible choice in their purchases, and hopefully bring a little of Asia into your home.
