A classic Indian style collection of Sheesham furniture imported from Churia, Rajasthan in Northern India. This hand- finished collection of living and dining room furniture is constructed from light-coloured Sheesham sapwood with its characteristically rich grain and golden brown colouring. The Maharaja Geometric collection has geometric corners and joints complimented by hand carved wooden or sleek gun metal handles.
As with all hand crafted, solid timber furniture, sizes and colours can vary slightly, and some movement should be allowed for.
The oldest bookcases in England are those in the Bodleian Library at Oxford University, which were placed in position in the last year or two of the sixteenth century; in that library are the earliest extant examples of shelved galleries over the flat wall-cases.
