About Radiata Pine Wood.
Radiata pine (Pinus radiat) is also known as the remarkable pine due to its dramatic impact on the world timber scene. It is an easily managed plantation tree achieving maturity at 25 30 years. Characterised by a straight grain it can be readily used in the construction and design of furniture. Although technically a soft wood modern research has developed timber treatments that can increase its hardness to compare favourably with hardwoods. Kiln dried timber exhibits a pleasant light golden brown colour with a pale yellow sapwood. Radiata pine is an extremely versatile timber yielding a range of useful applications.
